I
split my time between custom sewing and teaching. Teaching gives
me the opportunity to share my passion of sewing and keep the craft
alive. I welcome students of all ages.
I have
previously taught the Advanced Garment Construction class at the
Emily Griffith Opportunity School, and am currently working with the
Somali Community Center of Colorado as the head instructor for the Somali
Women's Sewing Program.
The
class options I offer are:
Group Classes
For adults and teens. Group classes
meet for two-hour sessions once per week, for six-week sessions. I teach these in a "workshop"
style - each student works on his or her own project at his or her level. Each session is limited to
8 students. These sessions are ongoing, so please call or email me for a current schedule.
Cost for group classes is $150 for a
six-week session, with a 50% despoit required one week before the first session. If you cannot make
one of the classes, you may make it up by attending one of my other group sessions (for returning
students, make-up classes may not be taken during your regular session).
Private and Semi-Private Lessons
Looking for 1-on-1 instruction, or would you like
to take a class with your friends? I hold private and semi-private lessons either at your home or at my studio
in Wheat Ridge. Class times will be arranged to best
suit your schedule. Call or email me for pricing and details.
Customized Classes
Have a particular skill you would like to learn?
Create your own class! We can do a single hour or two, or a multi-class session for you. Call or email me for pricing and details.
